Agrah made these revelations when he attended the closing ceremony of the maiden U-18 Basketball tournament at the El-Wak Stadium on Friday September 4.
Rite Multimedia, a leader in basketball development in Ghana put together an exciting 13-week of basketball tournament among 10 communities in the Greater Accra region.
The easy-going National Sports Council chief who attended both the opening and closing ceremony admits more needs to be done to projecting the image of the game to the highest level in the country.
”Rite Multimedia has been amazing and I will like to say here today that they will receive all the support from the Sports Council as they continue their quest to push the game forward in Ghana’’.
He added that he is amazed at the number of fans who thronged the stadium. ”It will interest you to know that some premier league football clubs in Ghana do not even attract such a crowd”. Agrah told basketballghana.
According to Mr Agrah he believes that the combine effort from the National Sports Council, sponsors and stakeholders will build a stronger National team capable of competing at the international stage.
Community Dunks is an initiative of Rite Multimedia and sponsored by Sprite and Indomie with support from DDP Outdoor Ltd, Western Publications, Silicon House Production, Y FM, TV Africa, 90 minutes Newspaper and Ghana’s World Newspaper.
