PELPUO FRAMEThe Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Abdul Rashid Pelpuo, has reiterated his governments’ commitment to collaborate with Rite Multimedia to support the growth and promotion of the game in Ghana.

Hon Pelpuo who is expected to be the special Guest of Honour at the two-day national Sprite Ball championship at the El-Wak Stadium later this month says plans are far advanced to put the game on a sound footing.

He claimed government is keen on given the other sporting events equal attention in the West African country by devoting resources to help it breach the gap between the ‘lesser known’ sports and the other financially supported games.

Rite Multimedia has been at the fore front of projecting the image of the game for the past four years by developing the game from the grass roott. The company is credited with organising highly –competitive games for students at all levels of education ranging from the Junior High, Senior High, Universities and the communities.

Forty four (44) senior high schools from six regions are expected to sell out an exciting basketball games at the venue which will hold fans spell-bound.

In a solidarity message to the various schools on Baskteball TV ahead of the championship, he challenged them to exhibit a high level of sportsmanship.

‘  I want to take this opportunity to congratulate all the schools that have qualified for the Sprite Ball Championship and say that I am really looking forward to seeing them in Accra’ Pelpuo told Basketball TV

‘I have been personally thrilled and impressed with what I saw on TV during the regional qualifiers and I am convinvced that the grand finale at the El-Wak stadium will be a delight to watch’

‘ I will be at the El-Wak stadium to welcome the players and officials of all the 44 schools and I can asure them that government is doing all it can to ensure that it improves existing facilities ad build new ones so more talents can be unearth.’

He addded: ‘I want also congratulate the organisers –Rite Multimedia whose effort has seen the game develop to an appreciable level in the country and it is evident for all to see’.

‘We are committed to ensure that we give the needed support to them to cotinue the great work they are doing for the game in the country and their effort will be duly appreciated in due time.
