For the thousands of crazy basketball fans who will throng the El-Wak Stadium on the 19th and 20th of December 2009, not only would they be treated to some crazy basketball drills and excitements but they would be awashed with some scintillating hip life music by some of the country’s finest artistes.
Ghana’s fastest rapper Sarkodie, sensational hip-life duo Bradez and Ayigbe Edem will lead a cast of artistes that will perform to the admiration and enjoyment of the thousands of basketball fans who will witness the gruelling games.
Sarkodie is a well -known Computer whizz in Tema (industrial city of Ghana-centre of the world) and specializes in system software and applications though he’s got passion for making nature visually impressive (creative and fine arts). Being respectful but outspoken, intelligent but caring, calm but motivating, it was very predictable to be recognized as being very decent and disciplined in the global music industry.
Being highly motivated by Obrafuo’s “Pae Mu Ka” album, the greatest hiplife sensation released his first album in December 2008 and he remains the first and only corporate musician in the world to have ever performed at an international high forum round table on aid effectiveness.
Bradez on the other hand have also undoubtedly and provocatively proven that music indeed an inherent trait. The duo, Kuntakinte and Stone are the big brothers of the 2008 hip life artiste of the year Okyeame Kwame. The Bradez is a brainchild of the rap doctor, who selflessly looked deep into his younger brothers and saw the seed of music in them.Realizing this great potential, he relentlessly went through all means to nurture them by the the minute. Along the years, he helped them through rap competitions, making them win without question in all such contests, enabling them to acquire the necessary confidence until they were ready to record. It is somewhat challenging to define the kind of music churned out by the Bradez. They essentially call them selves rappers with deep poetic lyrics, their songs tend to be conceptive and concentrated.
In their quest to come out with something known to our soul as Black people, they employ various forms of African melodies and tunes. It will therefore be no surprising if their music should get to our inner selves as Africans.
Apparently, their great ambition is to become the most sensitive lyricist in the history of Ghanaian music and the world at large therefore they are very particular about what they write, without least employing any profanity form of profanity.
The two artistes will feature prominently on the bill alongside Ayigbe Edem and upcoming stars like Macho Rapper and Don Itchi at the grand finale of the Sprite Ball Championship and they have promised a wonderful show for the numerous fans.
