Susec power past Wess in B.A opener

Host Sunyani Senior High School (Susec) put up a peerless display to beat Wenchi 20-4 in a one sided –game at the school’s main basketball court on Friday.

Nathan Duori was the star attraction for the homeside as his individual brilliance inspired team confidence in the region’s maiden appearance in the prestigious basketball championship.

The atmosphere has been electrifying as students of continue to chant and offer their unflinching support to the team and it clearly paid the dividend as they produced a sell-out performance to make mince meat of their opponent

It was comedy of errors from Wess who had most of their timing wrong. They lacked some of the basic rudiment of the game as they struggled to hold onto the ball. It has been a spectacle at the Susec and the remaining matches will test their resolve to win the competition for the first time.

Susec tackle Twene Amanfo Technical/ Secondary School next in their second group game and that should set for an explosive encounter.

In the second game of the day, Dormaa Senior High accounted for Presbyterian Senior High, Bechem in a low scoring 8-6. It was a comeback display from Dormass who had trailed their opponent for the better part of the two halves until a late surge earned them the bragging right at the basketball court of Sunyani Senior high.
