Aidoo remain coil on Pojoss performance

Small forward for Pope John Seminary, Gilbert Aidoo, is not getting carried with the blistering performance of his school in the group phase of the 2010 Sprite Ball Championship.

The Eastern regional bridesmaid were phenomenal in the group phase where they beat defending champions Armed Forces Secondary Technical School 16-6 in front of a packed crowd at the Kawukudi basketball court.

They continued their fine form with a sublime performance against New Nations –outclassing them 19-3 in another one-sided game. They’ve qualified for the 1/16th stage with a game in hand against first runner up in the Volta region Mawuli Senior High on Thursday morning.

The young and budding talent who put a bolt from the blue performance is delighted with the performance of his team but reckons there are more difficult ones ahead.

By God’s grace we managed to beat the defending champions Armed Forces who are considered one of the favourite for the title. But we’re not going to be swollen headed as we continue our dream to annex the title for the first time’. Aidoo told basketballghana.com

‘We’re very much prepared for the games ahead and we’ll leave no stone unturned. Every team can prove a challenge and so will not be tempted to rule any one out. The likes of Mfantsipim, Labone and Armed Forces are strong teams and will have to be on the lookout for them’.
