Screening Exercise takes off on August 19, 2011

The first batch of the screening exercise of the 2011 Under-18 basketball championship takes centre stage on Friday August 19 at the centre court of the International Central Gospel Church, Abossey Okai.

Officials will assess the documents of players in an apparent move to reduce age-cheating in the competition.

Teams from Kaneshie, Dansoman and James Town in zone 1 will have the first bite of the exercise as they will be taking through the screening exercise to ascertain the veracity of their ages or otherwise.

Teams in zone comprising Tema, Sakumono and Ashaiman will converge at the Kaiza court, Tema for their session on September 4 before Cantonment, Ridge and Burma takes their turn on September 10 at the Prisons Court.

Technical director Mathias Ocloo will oversee the exercise to curtail any potential protests during the tournament.
