Zone 1 screening exercise successful

The first phase of the screening exercise for players in zone 1 took centre stage on Friday at the centre court of the International Central Gospel Church.

Over 12 players from each of the three communities-Kaneshie, Dansoman and James Town went through a thorough session in a move to authenticate and verify their age band.

It was an exciting scene as the protagonist exchanged pleasantries knowing Saturday’s showdown won’t be friendly at all.

Officials will announce the names of the players who did not make the grade on Monday afternoon.

The 2011 Community Dunks has seen some massive innovations and for the first time in the competition’s history, fans will have an opportunity to watch the stars close to home following the decision of the organizers to take the game to them.

The next screening exercise will take place on September 4 at the Kaiza court, Tema.
