This time the rivalry and intensity of the competition will swing from the court to the relatively relaxed other exciting events as a prelude to celebrate five years of the famous Sprite Basketball Championship.
The country’s capital will surely come alive as patrons will witness the biggest high school youth carnival to usher in the fifth edition of the sporting event that has changed lives and given true meaning in tapping potentials of mushrooming aptitude.
It will be the venue to determine which high school has got the swag and the best ‘Azonto’ dancers, the best in jama, rap and dance battles, formation dance, 3 on 3, 1 on 1 and freestyle amongst other activities lined up for the occasion with the event been crowned with performances from some of the country’s finest artistes.
The 2011 Sprite Ball Jam is expected to bring back fond memories of Secondary school days and give people the opportunity to socialize and make new friends in a bid to relive the unforgettable times all over again.
It will also be a special occasion for all ex-players of the competition as well as they will relive those great moment in the past and reminisce about ‘the good old days’.
The atmosphere at the Aviation Social Centre will be charged with various ‘jama’ songs from the old and present students who have promised to enter the grounds with their own traditional and adapted instruments, to pump up school-based performances.
There will also be plenty to eat and drink as they will be treated to some exciting mixes from some of the finest DJ’s in town.
The fifth edition of the Sprite Ball Championship will take place between January 5-6, 2012 at the El-Wak and Aviation Social Centre respectively but the curtain raiser will surely be mind blowing and thrilling.
