Kawanopado’s starlet Daniel Owusu

When Kawanopado’s Daniel Owusu brings his ‘A’ game plan into the finals of the 2012 Indomie Community Dunks, he would be too hot to handle by any team, let alone slow him down.

The  guard is one player who can cause problems for the defence of any team on the day.

He is not a new comer to the game after excelling for Mfantsipim during the Junior High Basketball competition for the past two seasons.

Luckily for Kawanopado community, the young fella falls within the age bracket and so should be an exciting addition in their foe – clearly one young boy who can deliver the title for the Cape Coast-based side.

His quickness, dexterity, character and team spirit has awed many in the past and he will hope to relive those memories.

The Community Dunks is a new platform which comes with its own dynamics and power play but the starlet has big game temperament and says he is unfazed by the onslaught.

“We are not afraid. Some of us have been there and this should be like one of the normal competitions,” Owusu told BASKETBALLghana.com

“We respect the other teams who have qualified but it’s five-five on court and nothing else,”

“There is high sense of belief in the team. We’re not going to pushovers. At least we are going to Accra on merit and so there is no cause for alarm,”

“We want to make our people back home proud and so there are no problems at all.”

The biggest chink in his breastplate is his free-throws shooting.

Owusu is a player that any team would love to have in its line-up.
