LAWAL POSTCoach Braimah Lawal of Ridge is upbeat about his side’s chances against Cantonments in the finals of the maiden U-18 Basketball competition on Friday September 4.

The national team coach guides his side to battle Cantonments at the El-Wak stadium in a game which is expected to attract the crème de la crème of Ghana Sports and thousand of fans on Friday afternoon.

Ridge shocked the pundits of the game by posting a famous win over Dansoman in the semi-finals and they expect to write their name on gold plate once again.

Lawal and his technical staff are expected to issue out instructions from the touchlines as they attempt to win the giants trophy and the prize at stake.

This is the third time both sides are meeting in the 12-week competition with results going each others way.

Ridge won the first classification and their counterpart avenged that defeat in the second classification and so Friday’s game will determine who will hold the bragging right as the curtain will be lowered on an exciting and gruelling 13-weeks of great basketball artistry.

Lawal is coy on the big match and thinks he will scale the hurdle against his opposite number.

‘This is going to be a test game for us and we expect to do well against Cantonments on Friday.’ Lawal told basketballghana. ‘

‘We were given no dogs chance against Dansoman and everybody saw how we disciplined them and so am positive we will beat Cantonments once again.’

‘We have done it before and we will do it again because my players are fit and the confidence level has skyrocketed.’

‘I want to ask all our teeming to pray for us and I am convinced we will make them proud.
