RITE MULTIMEDIA BOSS THRILLED WITH THE COMPLETION OF REGIONAL SPRITE BALL QUALIFIERS

The Chief Executive Officer of Rite Multimedia, Yaw Sakyi Afari, has spoken of his delight after the successful conclusion of the prestigious regional Sprite Ball Championship across six regions.

The curtain was lowered on the regional qualifiers over the weekend at the El-Wak Stadium where Kinbu Senior High (boys) and Tema Senior High (girls) dazzled their way through to emerge champions for the first time.

The competition in the Greater Accra region rounded up intense and competitive activities from five other regions to select the qualifiers to compete at the national event at the El-wak Stadium on December 19th and 20th.

In all 36 schools have booked their ticket to participate in the two-day basketball fiesta where thousands of crazy basketball fans are expected to be thrilled with fun and excitement.

The various competing schools have earned rave reviews for their sterling performances over the last two months and the final showpiece in Accra later in the month will underline the credentials and potentials of the various schools.

Rite Multimedia who are leaders in basketball development and promotion in Ghana expanded their tentacles this season by adding two more regions to the existing four as they seek to cover the entire ten regions by 2011.

With the six regional qualifiers done and dusted, attentin will now be shifted to the El-Wak Stadium later in the month where the crème de la crème of the six regions will converge for the much –awaited grand finale in Accra.

Afari says he was impressed with the level of play and reckons the grand finale will serve as the perfect epitome of the level of development of the game in the country.

‘After covering six solid regions this year, I just can’t wait for the grand finale in Accra where I expects to see the various schools coming out strongly to compete against each other’

‘Some schools have shocked me with their level of play and really proved pundits wrong and that is the trend I forsee happening at the El-Wak Stadium’

‘I am happy that the dream of developing and promoting the game at all levels is on course and we are determined to ensure that we keep the fire burning’

‘ I am looking forward to see all schools especially the young girls from Supreme Toasi in the Ashanti who I must say proved the dark horses of the regional qualifiers and I can’t wait to see them in Accra’.

He added: ‘I want to take this opportunity to thank our major sponsors Sprite who have believed in this dream and helped us all this while. Also I can forget Indoomie for the massive support and we are extremely grateful for their immense support.     We are waiting for the competition for the universities because our hands are hot in our pockets.Soo many drives,layups and dunks to be exhibited but YAW you shouldn’t have used that name Community Dunks cuz there wasn’t any potential dunker in all the tournament.Thanks but for UCBC University of Education of Winneba will surely be the victor
