Police and Holy Family will set the tone for the 2012 Thome Cabalan memorial basketball championship which kick starts on Monday.

The two teams will face each other at the Lebanon house in Accra eager to begin their journey to glory on a positive note.

Games involving the two sides have always been engrossing and Monday’s meeting is expected to produce anything short of suspense and drama.

The final group game on the day will see Panthers clash with Fire. Panthers are determined to win back their fans after a difficult time in the Greater Accra basketball series.

But they come up against a side which has resolved to win the trophy for the fourth time.

This year’s edition marks the 20th anniversary of the death of the man who donated the Lebanon court to the Ghana Basketball Association which has helped to develop the game tremendously
