Lawah-slide-300x199Braves of Custom Excise and Preventive Services have not made as much noise this off-season as others did, but they are still the hot favourites heading into the 2013-14 season.

Unlike Hoops and Tema Youth, this CEPS team has figured out a way to win an unbelievable 12th consecutive championship title as the Greater Accra Basketball series rolls out on April 10 in Ghana’s capital, Accra.

Their team chemistry should not be a problem this upcoming campaign with bookmakers tipping them to win what is becoming a boring league.

Boring not in terms of the intensity and high-level competition but due to the fact that it has become a one-way traffic as CEPS continuously win the title year-in-and-year out.

The team is back on the blocks with another chilling and sizzling season expected to roll out in the coming weeks.

Hoops, Tema Youth, Reformers, Police and Prisons amongst others are battle ready to battle it out for the title but coach Braimah Lawah insists they are focused on repeating as champions.

“We know our opponents will be coming at us with all the seriousness. But we’re ready to battle them,” Lawah said

“A champion is always a champion and therefore we know the task ahead of us is huge.

“But we’re ready to do our best and ensure we keep this title for many years as possible.

“I must admit however that this year won’t be easy for us. We have heard such talks over and over the period but we end up winning all the time.

“We have enough quality to surpass the challenge of all the teams.

Over ten male and female teams will battle for honours at the two main venues – Lebanon court and Prisons court.
