Braves of CEPS push it record to 2-1 with a 66-44 points win over Young Sportman Club of Sierra Leone.

The Ghanaian side started the game on a low scoring note winning the first two quarters by 13-08 and 14-12 points to take a 27-20 points lead going into the break.

The Ghanaian champion live up to its name as it shown some bravery in the third and fourth quarters with 19-13 and 20-11 points to end the game by a 22-point margin of 66-44 points to the lead pack with five points, though with more games than others.

Teams stepped-up their aspiration of making it to the final round of the Africa Champions Cup for Men as three teams in crucial wins with Liberia LPRC Oilers basketball club recording the biggest win of the day when it spanked its local rival NPA Pythons basketball club by 103-74 points.

The Oilers versus Pythons which was the second game of Day-4 of the Champions Cup Zone-2 and Zone-3 qualifying round saw the Liberian league champion winning in all four quarters (22-18, 24-19, 30-17 and 27-20) to secure their second straight win and stay second behind CPES Braves on the log.

The last game of the day between two Nigerian sides Kano Pillars basketball club and Union Bank basketball club was very explosive as the fans that throng the basketball gymnasium of the SKD Sports Complex were kept at the edge of their seats throughout the four quarters duration of the game.

The first quarter had ended on an even note of 13 points apiece but Kano Pillars break loose in the second with a 20-15 points win to take a five points advantage at half-time (33-28), at resumption of hostilities in the third quarter Kano Pillars lead was cut down to one point as it lost the third quarter by 14-18 points.

The fourth quarter however provided a lot of drama as both sides stepped up greatly with a bid to outdo one another, the game was neck-to-neck until two minutes to the buzzer when Pillars guard Azuoma Dike who was curtail by Union Bank players took an important three pointer that gave his side four points lead and Kano Pillars went on to win the game by 71-64 points.
