Chief Executive of Rite Multimedia, Yaw Sakyi Afari, expects the visit of Chris Bosh to boost the image of basketball game in Ghana.

The renowned Miami Heat star will be the star attraction during a four-day tour of the African country as part of the second edition of the Sprite Ball Clinic.

The 30-year-old will interact with players and officials and impact his knowledge on them in a move to promote the game.

The former Toronto Raptors player will use his time in Ghana to evaluate the level of development of basketball in the country as the growing brand continues to attract the attention of NBA Africa.

Ghana has played catch-ups to the likes of Angola, Nigeria, Cote D’voire and Libya amongst others and have made tremendous gains in their bid to make it a powerful sport in the West African country.

Rite Multimedia has been at the forefront of championing the development and promotion drive of the sport and its Chief Executive, Yaw Sakyi Afari, is confident the visit of Bosh will yield positive dividends.

“It’s another great opportunity for basketball players and officials in Ghana and one exciting time we’re looking forward to,” he told BASKETBALLghana.com

“Chris has seen it all at the highest level and commands massive respect from the world. We believe his visit will help boost the image of the game in Ghana.

“Ghanaian players continue to dream of playing in the NBA and one such opportunity is being presented with the visit of Bosh.

“Last year we had Philip Osafo of King College being selected to represent Ghana at the Basketball Without Borders programme in South Africa.

“This year, we’ll have another player being selected to represent the country at the 2014 programme in August this year.

“The opportunity abounds and we’re delighted that the NBA Africa have set in motion an agenda to develop and promote the game.

“You’ve got to give a lot of credit to the Coca-Cola Company Limited for believing in the dream and helping these kids to realize their dream.

“We are really looking forward to his visit and I’m confident that he will leave an indelible impact in the minds of these players.”

The Aviation Social Centre in Accra and the Adisadel College in Cape Coast will play host to the clinic on Friday July 11 and 12 respectively.

The 2014 Sprite Ball Clinic continues to gain momentum in Ghana with expectations reaching fever pitch as the Africans await the visit of the great man.

Last year, former Chicago Bulls star Luol Deng and Pops Mensah-Bonsu, formerly of the Toronto Raptors were the special guest during the maiden edition of the clinic.
