Coach of Blue Crest College Kofi Agyemang Kwarteng strongly believes time to play with each other is what his side needs to surprise teams at the 2016 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship set to commence on March 5 at the University of Professional Studies.

He made the statement in the aftermath of his team’s 13-26 loss to Central University College on the final day of warm up games for some participating institutions to test run their schemes ahead of the championship.

The young soft spoken tactical head was not disappointed with his side’s display as he pointed out in an interview with Basketballghana.com.

“I am not so bothered, this is actually my first experience with the team, we are yet to build a team and I guess that is why am here. So I wasn’t expecting so much from the boys at least they didn’t do so bad. It’s just a start” he said.

“Definitely it is their first time. Am not sure they have encountered any crowd like this and so they were a bit tensed but they are starting to learn to play together”.

Blue Crest College will have a lot of time to prepare for the Championship as the institution takes on defending champions Accra Polytechnic, Zenith University College and Valley View University in Zone F come April 1.

The 2016 UPAC Championship is headlined by Rexona and supported by Fanyogo, MTN and CAL Bank in partnership with Basketballghana.com, Y FM, TV3 and Ghana Sports.
