The start of the Greater Accra Men’s Division I Basketball League has been postponed to Thursday May 5 after the league was scheduled to commence on Friday April 22; the decision to move the commencement date on technical grounds.

Per reports gathered by Basketballghana.com, the Greater Accra Basketball Association has delayed the start of the league due to a technical appraisal. The new date will make room for little details involved in running the fledgling league will be spelt out properly.

Team Youth was scheduled to take on Fire in the opening game on Friday at Lebanon House at 17:00 GMT. Navy and Reformers and Magic and Holy Family complete the list of Day One of the league.

The second week will have reigning champions Braves of CEPS take on Rangers. One major storyline to look out for in Braves title quest will be celebrated coach Lawal Braimah’s reaction after watching his unblemished record in the tertiary ranks get roasted.

His team Accra Polytechnic relinquished its’ stranglehold on the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship after falling 44-45 to University of Ghana.

The week will also mark the debut appearance of DC Dynamics in the league following promotion from Division II. The Dansoman-based side will play Airforce in the team’s first Division I game.
