Unlike the earlier game where CEPS cruised from start to finish, Galaxy had it tough dispatching a resilient Reformers side playing in front of their home crowd. Having a slim 12-11 lead after the first quarter, Galaxy reserve Forward Naa Shika came off the bench to score six straight points to extend Galaxy’s lead.

However, the team run into early foul trouble and the situation enabled Reformers back into the game by capitalizing on free throws. The score remained close (20-19 for Galaxy) heading into the final quarter until Celestina Quanum sparked a scoring run that put Prisons away for good.

In the men’s division II, Adenta Leopards made it two wins out of two after beating Team Youth 43-28. Following a close 68-65 win in overtime over Junior Reformers last week, Leopards aggression on defense made the difference.

Shooting Guard started the onslaught with consecutive three pointers to give Adenta a 10-4 lead after the first quarter. The team’s stingy defense, anchored by David Pinto prevented Tema Youth from having any joy in the post as players got double teamed quickly.

Without an interior presence, Tema was forced to shoot from deep which worked initially to reduce the deficit but tethered thereafter to extend the team’s unbeaten run in the league.
