Ghana’s Accra Basketball League (ABL) faces a major problem as the league is under threat of a lengthy break due to incessant rains which has plagued the country’s capital, Accra.

The country’s rainy season which begun in late May has inundated many parts of Accra and has affected many sectors including league venue Lebanon House at Tudu and Prisons Court in Cantonments.

The league’s men’s division fourth week fixtures were postponed after the playing surface at the Lebanon House was deemed too risky to play on. League administrators are yet to name a new date to honor the games.

However, Week Five games are seemingly under threat with Accra receiving a heavy dose of rains as at the time of writing. The likely games to be affected should the rains persist will be in the women’s division.

Unbeaten duo Air Force and defending champions Braves of Customs are scheduled to face Galaxy and Reformers of Prisons respectively. The final game on the day will have Fire Service play Navy.
