Fire Service delivered a splendid performance to down Navy 46-40 and end a four game losing streak in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Women’s Division.

The game which was preceded by Braves 56-43 win over Reformers of Prisons, pitched the winless sides in the division against each other with registering in the win column, a major reason to play for.

Fire Coaches Lawrence Nortey and Ralph insisted in previous interviews with Basketballghana.com, their side was capable of bigger things but were unlucky to be winless due to consistent meltdowns in the latter quarters.

Having gone into the must win game rock sitting rock bottom of the standings, Fire will leapfrog Navy to fifth on the six team hierarchy.

Whilst Navy and Fire battled for a maiden win in the season, Braves extended their win share in the league to five following a run over home side Reformers. Braves female team repeated the dose of their male team who walloped Reformers male side last month.

The veteran laden team was too quick, too disciplined and just too good to be imprisoned by Reformers despite the homesters valiant efforts. Braves will regain top spot from Air Force after registering its’ fifth straight win.
