Games in the Accra Basketball League Men’s Division I were under threat of being rescheduled in line with the close proximity to the 2016 Ghana Basketball Awards which will take place today at 18:00 GMT at the Best Western Premier Hotel in Ghana’s capital, Accra.
However, two of the scheduled three games will be played later today at the Prisons Court in Cantonments as a result of some awards induced changes.
Home side Reformers of Prisons will take on Fire Service at 14:30GMT in the early game before DC Dynamics play Air Force in the final game of the day.
Division leaders Braves of Customs game against Teshie Rangers has been postponed to a yet to be named date. Braves quartet of nominees Hashim Brimah, Suleman Abubakar, Abdul Mutaleeb Alhassan and Coach Brimah Lawal will be expected to be at the ceremony.
The games odd tip off time will allow other stakeholders including Coaches and League officials to make it in time for the event. Nominated referees of the Year Samuel Badu, Gasu Quarmyne and Eric Ankamah are also expected at the Best Western’s auditorium where the event will take place.
Since its launch in 2013 by organizers Rite Sports Limited, the Basketball Awards has become one of the most anticipated nights on Ghana’s sports calendar.
