Basketballghana.com can confirm Global Sporting Projects (GSP) League Administrators will roll out the much anticipated All-Star event on August 27 in Ghana’s Brong-Ahafo regional capital, Sunyani.
The program, in partnership with Vican Media Network will have players from teams in Kumasi, Berekum, Sunyani and Techiman go against each other in makeup teams. Aside treating the basketball-crazed capital, the games will provide an avenue for players especially those associated with the GSP League to showcase their skills after a long layoff.
The second edition of the GSP League has been halted to address pertinent issues since late April and is set to resume early September.
Making an appearance on premium basketball television show “Fast Break” on Ghana channel TV3 with league representative Diamond Roland, GSP Public Relations Officer Daniel Addo also entreated for more prospective sponsors to come on for the maiden edition.
Mobile phones company X-Tigi has signed up to sponsor the program.
However, the venue for the event is yet to be confirmed as organizers are contemplating choosing between either
University of Energy and Natural Resources and Sunyani Polytechnic’s Basketball Court.
Updates from the games will be broadcasted on several platforms including Basketballghana.com, Citi 97.3 FM, Class 91.3 FM and TV3.
