Kevin Durant’s Golden State Warriors preseason debut is going to kick off the fifth installment of the NBA Canada Series. The Toronto Raptors will play the host in Canada, as they travel to Vancouver to take on the Warriors on Oct. 1, and then head to Calgary to face the Denver Nuggets on Oct. 3. It’s the first time we’ve seen the Warriors and Nuggets in the Canada Series and the fourth time we’ve seen the Raptors participating.

From the Raptors:

The National Basketball Association (NBA) will host the fifth annual NBA Canada Series presented by Bell, featuring two preseason games in Vancouver and Calgary.
Two-time reigning Kia NBA MVP Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors, who made NBA history with 73 wins during the 2015-16 regular season, will take on 2016 NBA All-Stars DeMar DeRozan, Kyle Lowry and the Toronto Raptors at Rogers Arena in Vancouver on Saturday, Oct. 1. The game will mark seven-time NBA All-Star Kevin Durant’s Warriors debut.

The Raptors will then face Ontario native Jamal Murray and the Denver Nuggets at Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary on Monday, Oct. 3. Murray, the No. 7 selection in the 2016 NBA Draft, will be making his NBA preseason debut.
We likely won’t see a heavy dose of Durant and his new Warriors teammates because there’s no real reason to have them out there for heavy minutes in their first preseason game, but it’ll still be our first glimpse of seeing him on the team in real game type of action, despite being just an exhibition. Earlier in August, we saw Durant team up with Draymond Green and Klay Thompson for Team USA, so there were a couple of glimpses of how they’ll play together, but it’s nothing like the style of play the Warriors will have in NBA games. Plus, we haven’t gotten to see him with two-time reigning MVP Stephen Curry.

The Nuggets will have Canadian-born and raised Jamal Murray making his preseason debut in the NBA, as well. They flash one of the best young cores in the NBA with Murray, Emmanuel Mudiay, Gary Harris, Nikola Jokic and Jusuf Nurkic.
