The two day basketball tournament dubbed “Basketball Battle” will have four teams compete in the semi finals later today at the Community Basketball Court on the second and final day of the official curtain raiser of the Tema Community Basketball League postseason.

Ashaiman Lions will play against Community 4 and Nungua Coldstore will play against Flashlights of Tema Newtown after all four, made it out of the group stages. The opening game tips off at 13:00 GMT.

Ashaiman got the competition started with a bang as a 58-41 win over Flashlights was highlighted by Ashaiman’s remarkable rally. Flashlights recovered in time to join Lions and progress to the next stage.

A similar story played out in Group B as Nungua Coldstore’s 38-33 win over Community 4 did not affect the latter as it beat out the likes of Ghana Police and Communities 2 and 5 respectively to advance alongside Nungua.

Three of the four playoff teams set to be engaged on October 9 have also made the final four in the competition.
The seven team roster of the Tema League were joined by Ghana Police to compete in the tourney despite the absence of Gbevu Nation and Warriors.
