Reformers of Prisons have registered a stunning 58-53 win over Tudu Magic on Day two of the 2016 Accra Basketball League Men’s Division I at the Lebanon House in Tudu, Accra.

The sixth seed Reformers hushed the vociferous crowd to earn the tough win over the third seed Magic in a frantic, somewhat scrappy game that Reformers hold a 21-20 lead after the first half.

Two quick three point shots from Reformers Shooting Guard Elvis Pobi-Siaw before turning the ball over for Sulleyman Wahab to score and reduce Magic’ deficit to five (33-38) with a minute left to play in the third quarter.

Mohammed Yakubu and Steven Forster traded baskets in the opening minutes of the final quarter which was dogged by multiple instances of overzealous physical play from both sides. Subsequently, the final minutes of the game had a lot of free throw attempts with Reformers Center Aziz Mohammed finishing off the tie with two made baskets from the charity stripe.

He put the Prisons in the driver’s seat for the game’s winner earlier with a layup and 18 seconds left to play.

However, the second game of the round between Ghana Navy and Fire Service had to be postponed due to the absence of referees.
