Game One of the Tema Community Basketball League Final between Ashaiman Lions and Nungua Coldstore will take place at the Community 4 Basketball Court on Sunday October 23.

The best of three series will determine which team lifts the trophy in the competition’s maiden edition in the upcoming weekend at 15:30 GMT.

Having both qualified out of Group B in the regular season with Lions topping Coldstore, both teams are familiar with each other after facing off prior to the postseason.

In the postseason curtain raiser dubbed “Basketball Battle”, the sides made it through the eight team roster to face off in the final where Nungua beat Ashaiman 47-37 to lift the trophy.

In the wake of that loss, Lions Forward Ernest Otu Laryea was adamant his side will make amends in the league. Lions made it to the final by beating Flashlights of Tema New Town twice in the series including a 41-34 win in the last matchup.

Nungua on the other hand had a field picking apart Community 12 in the second semifinal by storming to a 39-15 win.

Unsurprisingly, both sides are led by standouts locked in serious MVP (Most Valuable Player) conversations in Coldstore’s Kofi Agyei and Lion’s Shooting Guard Elvis Pobi-Siaw.
