Recently crowned Tema Community Basketball League Most Valuable Player Kwame Boamah Djan has stated his teammates are the main catalyst for his win.

He made the statement after his side, Nungua Coldstore, beat Ashaiman Lions 69-59 in Game 2 of the finals series at the Community 4 Basketball Court to win the league over the weekend.

Speaking to Basketballghana.com, he said, “There is no I in team so I like to thank my team Coldstore we are like a brotherhood and you have brothers in the team, we take care of ourselves, we took care of ourselves and we came up with a win”.

“I just have one word for that, it’s called payback or you can use karma” he added when addressing beating an Ashaiman side that featured a huge chunk of the Ashaiman Tigers side that beat a Sakumono Chargers side that featured many players from Coldstore, in last year’s Rush Community Basketball Championship.

Djan didn’t have a great game in the final as foul trouble restricted him to play very little in the closing stages of the very physical yet exciting game.

Nungua started strongly by tallying a 37-19 lead at the close of the first half to see out the game despite a spirited rally from Ashaiman to reduce the deficit to a point in the third quarter.
