Eusbett’s Court hosted Week 2 games.

Sunyani Polytechnic has suffered the biggest loss in Week 6 games of the GSP Basketball League after getting hammered 6-25 by University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) at the Eusbett Hotel Court.

Sunyani Poly’s Court was set to host the fixtures but renovations to the court meant a venue change to the Eusbett Hotel Court which was added to the list of venues ahead of the season. Perhaps suffering from the absence of its home fans, Sunyani played tentatively through the entire game as the side failed to recover from a 1-10 first quarter deficit.

Suncity Braves continued its winning ways by beating bottom ranked LIR Royals 39-19 in the opening game of the round. The side is yet to lose a game and looks on course to defend its title.

Desert Rabbits recorded the biggest headline as the side beat second placed West Siders 28-21 to end a run of consecutive losses against the likes of Braves and Barracks Scorpions. Players of the latter were in inspired form as they played out a balanced game to edge CUCG Saints 40-38 in a thrilling game.

The low scores recorded in the round mirror those recorded on Week 2 which marked the first time the Eusbett Court hosted league games. One observer has stated, players are not used to the court. Below is a roundup of results recorded in the latest round of the GSP League:

LIR Royals 19-39 Braves

West Siders 21-28 Desert Rabbits

CUCG Saints 38-40 Barracks Scorpions

UENR 25-6 Sunyani Polytechnic
