2013 Ghana Basketball Awards Most Valuable Player Baniba Dodzie has touched base at the camp of reigning Sprite Ball Champions St. Augustine’s College in Ghana’s Central regional capital, Cape-Coast.

The visit from the nation’s one time best player comes ahead of the region’s qualifiers for the national championship (Sprite Ball) in January next year. Dodzie won the prestigious award after leading Accra Polytechnic and league side Braves of Customs to multiple titles. He recently added another league title to his collection with a stellar performance all season.

St. Augustine’s College begins the defense of its crown on Tuesday, November 29 as the side prepares to take on arch rivals and beaten finalist Mfantsipim School and a plethora of strong contenders including Adisadel College.

After losing stalwarts Raymond Affram and 2016 High School Male Player of the Year Dennis Dugbennu, Coach Lawrence Ampiah’s side will be closely looked at for any signs of weakness.

In the Girls category, Aggrey Memorial Mount Zion School will test its resolve against the likes of Mfantsiman Girls Senior High School, who after performing woefully in the last edition, are revving to make amends.
