Four schools have booked their tickets to the upcoming Sprite Ball Championship from Ghana’s Central Region by qualifying from the regional championship held at the Cape-Coast Stadium in the region’s capital, Cape-Coast.

Mfantsipim School and Adisadel College will represent the region at the main high school basketball tournament-Sprite Ball- in the boys division. In the girl’s division, Aggrey Memorial Mount Zion School and Wesley Girls High School will do same after making it to the final game.

Both Mfantsipim and Adisadel will make a return to the national championship after appearing in the ninth edition held in January this year. Mfantsipim placed second whilst Adisadel crashed out of the group stage.

Wesley Girls High School makes a long awaited return to the national games after a lengthy absence. The national two-time winners haven’t featured in the last three tournaments held at the El-Wak Stadium in Ghana’s capital, Accra.

Aggrey Memorial will be present at the games to defend its national crown. The school earned a second national title by beating novice Accra Wesley Girls High School after several years of falling short at the final game.

Sprite Ball is a Rite Sports-organized event that began in 2007.
