On Sunday, February 12, the Tema Community Basketball League curtain raiser dubbed the “Campaign Tournament” tips off at the Chinese Court in Tema Community 4.
The competition which has 16 teams drawn into four groups begins with games involving defending league Champions Nungua Coldstore and Kings Basketball Club in Group A.
Games in Group D however, will be played on March 5 as Ghana Police, Adenta Leopards, Teshie Rangers and DC Dynamics get ready to battle.
All teams in the group will feature in the Accra Basketball League Men’s Division I 2017 season with Leopards being the latest addition after gaining promotion from the lower tier last season.
Rangers and Dynamics both featured in Accra last year and made the playoffs.
Ghana Police failed to compete in the league due to administrative challenges that prevented the likes of Guards Emmanuel Dickson and Benjamin Debrah from playing.
The competition has been put together to warm players into the upcoming league season.
The two top winners in each group qualify to play in the latter stages on March 12 at the same venue. Tip off time is 11:00 AM GMT.
