VVU won two games but failed to qualify.
All Nations University College has tipped off the 2017 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship in shocking fashion to top Zone B and qualify to the quarter finals of the competition.

The debutant side has booked a date in Ghana’s capital, Accra on April 6 and 7 to battle for a semifinal spot against winners of respective zones.

All Nations maintained an unbeaten run in the qualifiers to grab the zone’s top spot and outsmart last year’s quarter finalist Valley View University.

All Nations began the tournament with a close 28-26 win over host team Koforidua Technical University (KTU).

Any signs of nerves were completely absent as the side went toe to toe with the experienced Valley View side that fielded sharp shooter Bright Otu-Masi to win 33-27.

All Nations trailed through the first half but turned the tide around to snatch a big victory.

The winning run was completed with a much expected 24-17 win after another stunning comeback. Valley View placed second after beating KTU and stood to qualify to the quarter final if All Nations had lost.

KTU lost all three games.
