Zone E challengers in the 2017 UPAC Basketball Championship, Wisconsin International University College and Central University are in the hunt for a quarter final spot but share similarities.

The duo will be in action on March 16 against host Accra Technical University (ATU) and Pentecost University College.

However, both sides will be looking for its first win after going winless in last year’s Championship. Both teams lost to defending champions University of Ghana (UG) and Marshalls University College.

Wisconsin lost 32-52 to UG while Central lost 35-67 to Marshalls University.

Aside being in the same zone for the second straight season in Ghana’s most prestigious tertiary basketball competition, both teams find themselves as the non winning pair from the 2016 Championship in the zone.

ATU lost out on winning a third Championship after losing to UG in the final game and Pentecost University lost 27-37 to GIMPA to miss out on a quarterfinal spot.

This year’s UPAC Championship is sponsored by premium financial firm EcoBank.
