Police beat Tema Community 5 36-16 while Reformers eked out a 39-38 win over Community 12 in the opening game in Group A.
The young Reformers side struggled to get away from C 12 but managed to hold on for its third win of the season.
In Group B, Adenta Leopards and Don Bosco Giants failed to turn up at the Tema Community 4 Basketball Court but an all Tema showdown made up for the loss with a stunning game between Community 4 and Community 2 which C4 won 48-42.
C4 won the exciting matchup despite an impressive performance from veteran Guard Ebenezer Borsah who starred in the second quarter with 13 points with a like for like shooting performance from Emmanuel Kwesi Danso.
The games were played despite heavy rain that inundated the court a few hours prior.
