Defending Tema Community Basketball League Champions Nungua Coldstore have delivered a stunning late quarter display to down arch rival Ashaiman Lions to close a quartet of top level games in the latest round of games.

Nungua led through all quarters of the game but had Lions consistently take over the game’s lead during after big runs during play.

After committing several turnovers, Nungua was lucky to walk away with a 16-12 first quarter lead and maintained its lead through the game clinching a 37-33 third quarter lead before wrapping a very entertaining matchup.

In the preceding games, Teshie Rangers woeful run of two straight losses was extended to three following a 38-46 loss to Reformers of Prisons in the opening game. Reformers on the other hand extends its winning run to three in the ongoing campaign.

Still on runs, Tema Heat’s three game winning streak was halted following a 27-29 loss to Ghana Navy in a feisty game that failed to produce the best from either team particularly in the second half. The loss is a tough one for a Heat side that had very little offensive spark aside Fred Yeboah.

For home side Tema Community 4, a quick start in the opening exchanges got it coasting through the rest of the game against Ashaiman Warriors. C4 whitewashed Warriors courtesy a 51-22 win with Point Guard Kent Fosu doing the damage early on in the game with three straight shots from the arc.
