Braves wipe Fire out of tie as UG forfeit’s game

Galaxy players were ready to play but UG did not turn up.

Fans milling on the court in the absence of the game.
An uneventful round in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Women’s Division has transpired at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu.

Braves of Customs beat Fire Service 62-33 in the opening game but the second game of the night failed to take place following University of Ghana’s (UG) no show for a fixture against Tudu Galaxy.

UG’s failure to turn up for the fixture means the tertiary side has forfeited the game and Galaxy is expected to be awarded two points and 20 goals as a result.

Players from the home team were ready to compete but sat on the bench for a while before officials made the declaration handing Galaxy an easy win and moves the team to third in the standings.

League leaders Braves earned an easy win over a Fire Service side that looked deflated without Guard Carlyn Adjei who missed the game =.

In a tie that promised a lot but offered little, Customs coasted to a 53-21 lead at the end of the third quarter before wrapping the game in the final quarter to win 62-33.
