“We have learnt lessons” – Rifles Captain comments on loss

Akatsi Rifles Captain Cecil Attipoe has lamented his side’s 53-93 loss to Junior Reformers of Prisons in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division II.

The side conceded the heavy defeat in the second game of the division’s opening round second day batch of fixtures which took place at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu.

Junior Rangers hushed a partisan crowd at the venue to claim a 65-52 win in the opening game before the complete bow out ensued.

Speaking to Basketballghana.com after the loss, Attipoe rued the loss but quickly pointed out his side will be better in upcoming games.

“We have not been together as a team for some time… We have learnt many lessons and we will be ready on Friday” he said.

Rifles next game is on August 25 against Reformers senior side who beat Panthers 60-53 earlier in the week.

Reformers got demoted to the lower league after failing to register in time for this year’s Division I regular season.

Akatsi and Junior Reformers also feature in the Tema Basketball League.
