Junior Reformers lead ABL Division II after opening round

Junior Reformers of Prisons lead the 2017 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division II standings after the opening fixtures in the new season.

The Prisons side junior team sit atop the standings after recording a heavy 93-53 win over Akatsi Rifles with an impressive display on Friday.

One of the outstanding sides in the opening round, Junior Rangers, lie second following a 65-52 win over home side Spartans. Its 13 point win places the side above Reformers Senior side who recorded a 60-53 win over Panthers in a tie between former Division I sides.

Reformers senior team dropped to the lower tier despite playing in the Division I postseason last year due to failure to register in time for this year’s regular season.

All losing teams have a point apiece but have varied rankings due to respective goal differences.

Police rounds up the list of winners courtesy a 60-59 win over Navy Warriors. Dunk Knights occupy last spot in the rankings; Knights was the only inactive team in the opening round of the campaign.
