Greater Accra came out tops in the Festival

Police
Ashaiman Lions’ highly anticipated matchup against Ghana Police in the Tema Basketball League has been scheduled to take place on September 17 at Tema’s Community 4 Court.

The tie takes place a week after Police takes on defending champions Nungua Coldstore in the upcoming round of games on Sunday September 10.

The game was originally set to be honored on September 3 at the same venue but got cancelled due to players from both teams involvement in the just ended Basketball Festival in Cape-Coast.

Lions players including Shooting Guard Elvis Pobi-Siaw and Dennis Dugbennu joined forces with players from other teams to feature for the Greater Accra Region select side in the competition.

The side beat Police in the final game to clinch the top prize with members of Junior Reformers of Prisons-another side in the league- capturing third place.

As a result of players involvement in the festivities, all games in Group A were cancelled leading to two games being honored in Group B in the last round.\

Teshie Rangers beat Tema Community 12 32-29 and Ghana Navy beat Community 4 40-34.
