Prince “Lion” Akaba has been named Most Valuable Player of the 2017 Tema Basketball League Under 19 Tournament that ended a few minutes ago.
The Community 4 Guard won the top prize following a string of consistent performances through the entire competition.
His tantalizing play helped his side win the title by starring in a 46-39 win in the final game over Nungua Youngings.
C4 held the game’s lead albeit slim through the game but stretched it to 10 early in the final quarter on the back off good play from Akaba.
Despite going through a bad run later on in the fourth quarter, Community 4 held on for the win over the highly fancied Nungua side who had some members of the all conquering senior side who are the defending league champions.
At the end of the competition, Akaba exited with a bang winning the top individual award and team award.
Neighbors Tema Community 12 placed third after piping Tema West Academy 29-28.
