CYO clinch sixth win, jump to first position

CYO (yellow) -Novas in action.
CYO (yellow) won its sixth game of the season over Reformers.
CYO Basketball Club temporarily occupies top spot in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division II after beating Junior Reformers in the last round of league games.

The team beat Reformers 66-54 in the first of two ties that took place at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu in midweek.

The Tudu Derby between Galaxy and Spartans had Galaxy win 45-41 in a game that thrilled late on after a sluggish start that represented anything but a derby.

CYO’s win is the team’s sixth of the season in seven games and gives the team 13 points in the campaign ahead of the rest of the field.

CYO leads the standings ahead of Ghana Police and Reformers of Prisons who lie second and third respectively tied on 12 points.

It marks a winning return for CYO who have been inactive for a while after losing its winning run in the league to Police.

However, Police ranks ahead of Prisons due to a superior goal difference and both teams face off on Friday October 13 in Tudu.

The winner of the tie will move straight to the top of the standings.
