Spartans running out of time for second league win

2017 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division II outfit Spartans are on the clock to record a second win in this year’s competition.

The young team has won just one of seven games this campaign; a 58-57 narrow win over Dunk Knights got the side its maiden win of the competition.

However, Spartans head to tonight’s round of league games in need of a win as the calendar draws to a close; the team takes on Navy Warriors in the first of two ties scheduled for the Lebanon House Court in Tudu.

Spartans face an uphill task to register its second win at the expense of Warriors who are riding on a four game winning streak.

Despite a terrible start losing three straight games, Navy has recovered remarkably to clinch four straight wins and move up to fifth in the standings.

Spartans have competed well but have ended up on the losing side several times this season including a hard fought 41-45 loss to Galaxy in the Tudu Derby.

Reformers of Prisons take on CYO in the second and final game in a tie that features the league leaders against third placed CYO.
