Nungua Coldstore Coach Ken Caesar has acknowledged the superior play of Ashaiman Lions in his team’s 56-61 loss to Lions in Group A Finals Series in the Tema Basketball League.

Defending league champions Coldstore lost the game and series (0-2) to miss out on the chance to repeat as champions after winning the 2016 title at Lions expense.

Lions look well motivated for the matchup and proceeded to dominate Coldstore on the boards and outplay them to find shooters in open spots for deep shot conversions.

In an exclusive chat with Basketballghana.com after the series ending loss, Caesar had nothing but positive words for the victorious side.

“Ashiaman were very composed; was a good game by them” he said in the aftermath of a game that was pretty over long before Coldstore Guards Emmanuel Wolff and Edwin Appiah sparked Nungua’s comeback attempt.

Prior to losing twice in the series to Ashaiman, the sole loss Coldstore suffered was at the hands of Junior Reformers in a shock 36-33 win for the young side in the regular season.

Lions play Tema Community 4 in the Finals Series while Coldstore play for third place with a game aginst Tema Heat.
