NBA Dream not over for Amida Brimah

Amida Brimah.
The dream of Amida Brimah, his basketball family and Ghanaians to play in the NBA is not dead following his recent call up to San Antonio Spurs G-League side.

Brimah got the call to feature for Austin Spurs in the Gatorade League this seeason; Austin Spurs is the affiliate team of five time NBA Champions San Antonio Spurs.

Despite encountering several obstacles in his career after tuning professional early this year, Brimah’s presence on the roster means he is still on the radar of NBA teams.

After going undrafted from University of Connecticut, Amida suited up for Chicago Bulls in the Summer League and San Antonio in preseason games before getting cut for the team’s final 2017-2018 season roster.

Aligning with the Spurs once again gives Brimah a big chance to play his way into the elite competition like so many before him including fellow Ghanaian Ben Bentil who earned a ten day contract with Dallas Mavericks to become the first Ghana-born player to feature in the NBA.

The athletic, 6 foot 11 inch rim protector Brimah should emulate Miami Heat big man Hassan Whiteside who signed a four year deal worth $88 million deal after getting a call up from the G-League.
