Tema Community 4 is one game away from winning the Tema Basketball League and defend its home court in the competition.

The team beat highly fancied Ashaiman Lions 58-54 in Game One of the Finals series over the weekend at Tema’s Community 4 Court.

The four point result is a shock win for C4 who went into the series as underdogs following Lions emphatic win over Nungua Coldstore in the Group Finals.

2016 Champions Coldstore looked unstoppable for most parts of the season until two straight losses to Ashaiman kicked them out of the running for a title defense.

On the other hand, the win means Community 4 would be crowned winners of this year’s competition should the side repeat its sterling performance on Sunday November 12.

For Ashaiman, the absence of Guards Elvis Pobi-Siaw and Jibril Musah cost the side dearly and puts them in a tight spot going into Game 2 of the series.

Coldstore’s poor run recently continued after falling 50-53 to Tema Heat in the third place game played prior to Game One.
