Prempeh (white) in action against OWASS on Friday
Team OWASS with the national championship
Opoku Ware and Prempeh represented the Ashanti Region last year.
Heavy rain has prevented the second attempt at finding a winner between Prempeh College and Opoku Ware School in the Ashanti Regional Qualifiers for Sprite Ball.

The game which had no winner at the end of the first game, ended in similar fashion in the third quarter as rain peppered the Toase Senior High school Court.

Opoku Ware led 24-21 prior to the onset of the rains. Troubled brewed between supporters and players of both sides in the aftermath of the interruption just like the first final held at Opoku Ware’s Court.

Toase was chosen as the venue for the titanic clash as a measure to avoid crowd trouble that characterized the first encounter between the teams.

The first fixture was tied at 16 at the end of regulation time and set for overtime. However, poor visibility at the venue forced organizers to reschedule the fixture.

Despite both teams spots at the national games confirmed by making the regional finals, the steep rivalry between the two, adds a heightened emotional dimension to the game.

The new date for the game is yet to be announced.
