Staunch rivals Opoku Ware School and Prempeh College will meet to decide which wins the 2017 Ashanti Region Qualifiers in the Sprite Ball Championship.

The fixture tips off at Opoku Ware’s Court at 11:00 GMT with the host who double as reigning regional and national champions aiming for a repeat this year.

The teams squared off in an entertaining game in the boys division final which had heart stopping moments at every turn.

However, several delays containing the passionate crowd at the venue led to multiple stoppages which forced officials to postpone the game due to poor visibility.

The game ended 16-16 and set to go to overtime but the one day event had run into the wee hours of the evening and the absence of lights meant the tie had to be settled on a rescheduled day.

T.I.Ahmadiyya Senior High School clinched third place with a 25-9 win over Kumasi Anglican Senior High School to book a spot at the upcoming national games.

The school’s female side and Kumasi Girls High School will represent the region in the female category.
