Tema Heat are the 2017 Tema Basketball League bronze medal winners; the team beat Nungua Coldstore 53-50 to win third place.
The three point win is a big result for Heat after missing out on the medals spots in last year’s competition.
The tie took place at the Tema Community 4 Court prior to the start of the first of three games in the finals between Ashaiman Lions and Tema Community 4.
An end to end matchup had the game’s lead change several times before Heat exploited Coldstore’s profligacy with the ball to clinch the win.
The Group B runners up get to end the season on a high note after impressing behind team leader Fred Yeboah this season.
Nungua Coldstore got to experience the opposite as the 2016 league champions end the season outside the medal zone.
It turned out to be a great day for Group B teams as Community 4 stunned Group A representative Ashaiman Lions in Game One of the finals courtesy a 58-54 win.
