Braves of Customs Forward James Pappoe Kpakpo leads in the rebounding category at the ongoing FIBA Africa Zone 3 Club Championship Qualifiers.

The competition which is taking place in Lagos, Nigeria is set to have the third round of games honored today; reports reaching Basketballghana.com indicate reigning champions Kano Pillars have clinched a third straight win in the competition following an 81-63 win over Aspac from Benin.

Heading into the fixtures however, Ghana’s sole representative at the tournament has two players battling out in the major categories.

While Pappoe has averaged 12 rebounds in a couple of games, fellow Forward Daniel Aryee is second in steals after registering 2.5 steals in as many games.

Both men will be counted on to get the side into the final and secure one of two slots from the zone at the main championship. A wild card pick will be selected ahead of the continental games.

Customs third game of the competition is against Civil Defence of Nigeria who missed out on a win to Pillars following a 91-92 loss.

Braves beat Aspac but lost 57-84 to Gombe Bulls.
