Highly rated rivals Pope John Senior High School and Koforidua Senior High Technical School (KSTS) have reached the summit of qualifiers in the Eastern Region.

The top duo will battle for the region’s title on Thursday, November 30; both teams have qualified to compete in the Sprite Ball Championship in the wake of making the region’s finals.

While KSTS beat St. Paul Senior High School 31-16, Pope John scraped through a close semifinal matchup to beat St. Peter’s Senior High School 14-13 in the semifinals respectively.

Prior to toppling its semifinal opponents, KSTS and Pope John survived a ten team roster in the preliminary round.

The likes of Okuapeman, Akropong Senior High Technical, Oda Senior High School, Akwamuman Senior High Schools among others featured in the first round of the qualifiers.

Pope John and KSTS have dominated the region’s competition for several seasons with the two sides representing at the national competition consistently.

KSTS is a two time bronze medal winner and missed out on a title to Mfantsipim School while Pope John placed third at the January 2016 edition.
